A citrus and herbal cocktail, it will make you feel just a little bit sophisticated.

Martini’s are my new wine. It is easy to feel handcuffed to basic drinks when you have so many dietary restrictions, but I have found that I can change things up a bit with my flavors and still make a simple drink with an awful lot of flavor. One of my favorite flavor combinations when cooking is lemon and rosemary. There is something about the citrus notes of the lemon that go so well with the fragrant notes of the rosemary. If it works in cooking and baking, it will definitely work with a cocktail too.

Serve it with:

  • Lemon Dijon Chicken Skewers
  • Parmesan Rosemary Flatbread Crisps with Olive Oil Dipping Sauce
  • Steak Bites with a Lemon Aioli

What you need:

The Martini

The martini is quick and easy, but results in a delicious drink. First step is to prep your glass. Add ice to the glass and set it aside or place your glass in the freezer. Next, add your gin and simple syrup into the cocktail shaker and top with ice. Shake for about 15 seconds until you can feel the shaker getting cold. Dump the ice from the glass or remove from the freezer. Strain the drink into the glass and garnish with a small sprig of rosemary and float a slice of lemon on the drink.
